This Victorian Manor House has been renovated to an exceptionally high standard, set in the heart of Weardale and the Durham Dales, an unspoilt paradise. Its the ideal luxury retreat to enjoy either as a base or a tranquil stopping off point on your journey. A friendly comfortable large home. The guest accommodation is the perfect place to relax and unwind. Set in large grounds with ample private parking, the accommodation has been created for those looking for that perfect relaxing break. Rooms are large and beautifully furnished with antique pieces of furniture including four poster beds or Half tester bed all with mattress toppers, en-suites have roll top baths, separate showers, underfloor heating and heated towel rails, and a plentiful supply of tea and coffee in room. This elegant 19th Century Manor is the perfect setting if you like morning coffee, a bite to eat at lunch time, afternoon tea or an evening meal (pre booked) in our licensed orangery/dining room furnished with original floor to ceiling Victorian bookcases, original fire place and log burner for those chilly nights. Fine wines, spirits & local beers are available from our well stocked bar. Guests can relax in the residents lounge with comfy sofas, high ceilings, original fireplace and large cosy log burner, huge windows enable you to see beautiful surrounding hillsides, grazing sheep, strolling pheasants and deer. When celebrating a special occasion we can arrange for those little extras to make your stay more memorable, champagne, flowers and chocolates for example. Relax and spoil yourself in the newly added garden room, soak in the ambience of wonderful views, surrounding hills and gardens, cosy up on quality faux fur throws and cushions whilst enjoying after dinner drinks in front of the glowing log burner. For those who like a short stroll after dinner there is St Andrews church with its marvellous spire, Westgate Castle and Slit Wood which is a site of Special Scientific Interest with its many waterfalls.
